UPDATE: By now, I'm sure all of you have seen the unauthorized e-mail that was sent out via the E-Mail Ministry Yahoo Group. I apologize for the inconvenience this caused. Believe me when I say, it has not been a fun 36 hours for me to deal with while trying to also spend time with my extended family to celebrate the Christmas / New Year's holidays.
BACKGROUND: A short while ago, Yahoo decided to change their policies concerning their Yahoo Groups. The one that is most concerning is that the groups are no long "Moderated". In the past, any message sent to the group had to be approved by me personally which stopped such "hacks" / spam which occurred yesterday. Now, however, they have turned all groups into "Public" groups which are "Unmoderated" which means, simply, anyone can send out a message/email to the entire group. I can no longer stop such unapproved e-mails from being sent.
You have three options going forward:
1) Continue to be subscribed to E-Mail Ministry via the Yahoo Groups and ignore any future unofficial / unauthorized / unapproved messages. Note: All approved messages will have " - E-Mail Ministry" at the end of the Subject line. If it does NOT have that, feel free to delete without opening it. PLEASE do NOT respond to any messages (approved or unapproved) as all 8,694 people subscribed will receive your e-mail. IF you want to communicate with me directly, please send an e-mail to me at emailministry@emailministry.org
2) Unsubscribe to the Yahoo Group subscriber list by sending an e-mail to ' emailministry-unsubscribe@yahoogroups.com ' from the e-mail address you are subscribed to. NOTE: I cannot unsubscribe you myself. I just can't do that for 8,694 people. Then you can re-subscribe to E-Mail Ministry by going to the E-Mail Ministry website (www.emailministry.org ) and subscribe via the Subscribe box on the right hand side of the web page.
3) Unsubscribe to the Yahoo Group list by sending an e-mail to ' emailministry-unsubscribe@yahoogroups.com ' from the e-mail address you are subscribed to. NOTE: I cannot unsubscribe you myself. I just can't do that for 8,694 people. Then you can re-subscribe to E-Mail Ministry through Google Groups (which is Moderated and I approve all e-mails so you will not be spammed) by sending an e-mail from the address you want subscribed to ' emailministry+unsubscribe@googlegroups.com '.
Again, I apologize for the inconvenience this has caused. Please consider either Option 2 or 3 above going forward to prevent the problem from reoccurring to you.
