A note from doug:

From time to time, at the beginning of the month, I like to send out a
compilation message of various items I've accumulated over time.

Two months ago I mentioned that this ministry did not have enough money to
last thru the end of May.

Thanks to the generosity of a few, I will be able to continue this ministry
for a short time longer.

I also want to thank everyone who sent me e-mails about what this ministry
means to them and how they use it to further God's Kingdom.

Your kind words have convinced me to continue this ministry.

THINKING OF YOU

I said a prayer for you today
And know God must have heard-
I felt the answer in my heart
Although He spoke no word.
I didn't ask for wealth or fame,
I new you wouldn't mind,
I asked Him to send treasures
Of a far more lasting kind.

RIDDLE

A riddle to be solved....
....can you do it?

What is greater than God?
What is more evil than the devil?
The poor have it.
The rich need it.
If you eat it you will die?

This is all one riddle, with one answer. An interesting stat is that 70% of
Stanford University students couldn't work it out, however 80% of
Kindergarten kids could.

The people who make a difference in your life are not the ones with the most

TIME AND FRIENDS....

Imagine there is a bank that credits your account each morning with $86,400.
It carries over no balance from day to day. Every evening deletes whatever
part of the balance you failed to use during the day. What would you do?
Draw out ALL OF IT, of course!!!!

Each of us has such a bank. Its name is TIME. Every morning, it credits you
with 86,400 seconds. Every night it writes off, as lost, whatever of this
you have failed to invest to good purpose. It carries over no balance. It
allows no overdraft.

Each day it opens a new account for you. Each night it burns the remains of
the day. If you fail to use the day's deposits, the loss is yours.

There is no going back. There is no drawing against the "tomorrow." You
must live in the present on today's deposits. Invest it so as to get from it
the utmost in health, happiness, and success! The clock is running. Make
the most of today.

To realize the value of ONE YEAR, ask a student who failed a grade.

To realize the value of ONE MONTH, ask a mother who gave birth to a
premature baby.

To realize the value of ONE WEEK, ask the editor of a weekly magazine.

To realize the value of ONE HOUR, ask the lovers who are waiting to meet.

To realize the value of ONE MINUTE, ask a person who missed the train.

To realize the value of ONE-SECOND, ask a person who just avoided an
accident.

To realize the value of ONE MILLISECOND, ask the person who won a silver
medal in the Olympics.

Treasure every moment that you have! And treasure it more because you shared
it with someone special, special enough to spend your time.

And remember that time waits for no one.
Yesterday is history. Tomorrow is a mystery. Today is a gift. That's why
it's called the present!!!

EIGHT GIFTS THAT DO NOT COST A CENT

1) THE GIFT OF LISTENING...
But you must REALLY listen. No interrupting, no daydreaming, no planning
your response. Just listening.

2) THE GIFT OF AFFECTION...
Be generous with appropriate hugs, kisses, pats on the back and handholds.
Let these small actions demonstrate the love you have for family and

"That was a wonderful meal" can make someone's day.

6) THE GIFT OF A FAVOR...
Every day, go out of your way to do something kind.

7) THE GIFT OF SOLITUDE...
There are times when we want nothing better than to be left alone. Be
sensitive to those times and give the gift of solitude to others.

8) THE GIFT OF A CHEERFUL DISPOSITION...
The easiest way to feel good is to extend a kind word to someone, really
it's not that hard to say, Hello or Thank You.

Friends are a very rare jewel, indeed. They make you smile and encourage you
